API Trust · add-on for API providers

API Trust: know who is really using your API

See which businesses and products really use your API, spot the ones your terms don't allow, and keep an audit trail your compliance team can rely on.

API Trust details

What you get

  • Every consumer of your API

See each business that calls your API, how much it calls and when, by the API key, JWT or OAuth2 client, or client certificate it uses.

  • The products behind the calls

See the websites, mobile apps and servers each consumer's traffic comes from.

  • Findings when your terms are crossed

Choose the kinds of business your terms don't allow, including categories of your own. When a product falls into one, you get a finding to review.

  • You make the call

Confirm or dismiss each finding, mark products as allowed, and allow or block consumers. Owners and admins decide; everyone on the team can see.

  • Block at your API, if you choose

Blocking is off until you turn it on. Then a consumer you've blocked is refused at your API.

  • An audit trail you can verify

Every policy change and decision is kept in a record that can't be edited or deleted, and your team can check its integrity at any time. Export a file per consumer.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add a Codeskop server SDK

The same SDK that monitors your API's errors and requests: Python, Node.js, Java and Kotlin, Go or PHP.

  2. 2

    Say how you identify consumers

An API-key header, a JWT or OAuth2 claim, or the client certificate.

  3. 3

Choose what your terms don't allow

Pick the business categories that are off-limits for your API, or add your own.

  4. 4

    Review and decide

Work through findings, allow or block consumers, and keep the record for your compliance team or a partner.

Questions about API Trust

Who is API Trust for?

Companies that expose an API to other businesses, such as payments, data or partner APIs, and need to know who uses it and for what.

How do I get API Trust?

It's an add-on for API providers. Talk to us and we'll set it up for your organization.

Will it block traffic on its own?

No. Blocking is off until you turn it on, and only consumers you've chosen to block are refused.

What does it collect about my API's callers?

A hashed consumer ID and hashed client IP, plus the request details your server SDK already sends for monitoring. Never request or response bodies, cookies or Authorization headers.

Can our compliance team rely on the record?

Every policy change and decision is kept in a record that can't be edited or deleted, your team can check its integrity at any time, and you can export a file per consumer.

Platforms

One SDK. Every platform.

Codeskop works across your stack, from mobile and web to backend services. What each SDK captures

It all connects

From issue to insight, in one production story.

Errors, user journeys, network activity and releases are linked, so you go from symptom to root cause in minutes.

  1. An issue occurs

A crash or error is captured with its full context.

  2. See who it hit

How many users, which devices and which release.

  3. Check the requests

The failing and slow API calls around it.

  4. Check the release

Whether the latest release made it worse.

  5. Investigate and fix

Assign it, ticket it, or get a proposed fix.
