Release health

Know which release broke things

Every release of every project gets its own numbers: crash-free users and sessions, crashes and errors, adoption, new issues and resolved issues that came back, with the change from the release before. A release that got worse is flagged as regressed.

Release Health details

What you get

  • Crash-free users and sessions

Per release, from the app version the SDK already sends, over the last 90 days.

  • Adoption

How many people are on each release, so you know how far a problem has spread.

  • New and returning issues

Issues that first appeared in a release, and resolved issues that came back in it.

  • Regressions flagged

A release is marked regressed when crash-free users drop 0.5 points or more against the previous release, or a resolved issue returns.

  • Works for anonymous apps

A person is your user ID, or the install ID when there isn't one, so apps without sign-in get numbers too.

  • In the weekly digest

Each Monday the team digest compares crash-free users with the previous week, next to the top new issues.

How it works

  1. 1

    Ship a release

Nothing to configure: the SDK sends your app version with every event.

  2. 2

    Open Overview

Pick a project to see each release side by side, newest first.

  3. 3

    Act on a regression

Open the flagged release, see its new issues, and assign or ticket them.

Questions about release health

Which plan includes release health?

Every plan, Free included.

Do I need to tag releases?

On mobile, no: the SDK sends the app version automatically. On the web and on servers, set the release in the SDK config so events are grouped by it.

What counts as a regression?

Crash-free users at least 0.5 points below the previous release, with 50 or more people on both, or a resolved issue that comes back.

How far back does it go?

The last 90 days of releases for each project.

Platforms

One SDK. Every platform.

Codeskop works across your stack, from mobile and web to backend services. What each SDK captures

It all connects

From issue to insight, in one production story.

Errors, user journeys, network activity and releases are linked, so you go from symptom to root cause in minutes.

  1. An issue occurs

A crash or error is captured with its full context.

  2. See who it hit

How many users, which devices and which release.

  3. Check the requests

The failing and slow API calls around it.

  4. Check the release

Whether the latest release made it worse.

  5. Investigate and fix

Assign it, ticket it, or get a proposed fix.
