Before you start
You need to be an owner or admin of your Codeskop organization. Email is included on every plan, Free too; Slack from the Starter plan; Microsoft Teams and Discord from Growth. Channels are connected in Settings → Notifications and shared by every project's alert rules.Slack
Requirements: permission to add apps to your Slack workspace (or an admin who can approve it).
- In Slack, open Apps, search for Incoming Webhooks and choose Add to Slack.
- Pick the channel alerts should post to (for example
#mobile-alerts) and press Add Incoming WebHooks integration. - Copy the Webhook URL. It starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/. - In Codeskop, choose Slack → Connect, give it a name and paste the URL.
Codeskop posts a test message straight away. If it doesn't arrive, the URL is wrong or the webhook was removed.
https://hooks.slack.com/triggers/…) works too.Microsoft Teams
Requirements: permission to add workflows to the Teams channel.
- In Teams, open the channel, select ⋯ → Workflows.
- Choose the template Post to a channel when a webhook request is received and follow the steps.
- Copy the webhook URL the workflow shows at the end.
- In Codeskop, choose Microsoft Teams → Connect and paste it.
Alerts arrive as adaptive cards with the facts and an Open in Codeskop button. Older Office 365 connector URLs (…webhook.office.com…) are accepted too.
Discord
Requirements: the Manage Webhooks permission on the server.
- Open Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook.
- Name it (for example Codeskop), pick the channel, and press Copy Webhook URL.
- In Codeskop, choose Discord → Connect and paste it.
Email alerts go to teammates in your Codeskop organization. Pick them when you connect the channel, and change the list any time. To alert someone new, invite them to the team first. Emails come from no-reply@mail.codeskop.com; add it to your contacts so alerts don't land in spam.
Security
- Webhook URLs are stored encrypted and never shown again after you connect.
- Codeskop only accepts webhook URLs on each service's own domains, so a pasted URL can't send data anywhere else.
- Anyone with a webhook URL can post to that channel, so keep it private, and delete the webhook in Slack, Teams or Discord if it leaks, then connect a new one.
Removing a channel
Remove it in Settings → Notifications. Rules that used it stop sending there; rules with other channels keep working.
